Abstract

This study examines faith and its manifestations in the story of the People of the Cave in the Holy Qur’an, drawing on the distinctive nature of Qur’anic narratives in shaping doctrinal understanding and reinforcing the values of faith through the portrayal of human characters and their responses in contexts of trial and the conflict between faith and disbelief. The story of the People of the Cave derives its significance from the fact that it presents a model of a believing community that faced an environment hostile to their faith; they adhered to monotheism and rejected polytheism, and moved from belief to practical action that expressed the reality of their faith.
