Abstract

The research aims to introduce the methods of historians in the sixth century AH, by studying a specific model, introducing his life and his book, and explaining the most important resources he used in his chosen book. The history of Bayhaq is considered a historical book in the Persian language that is concerned with mentioning the virtues of the city and the noble prophetic hadiths contained therein and then its origins, along with mentioning its plans and the villages belonging to it with rare details that are not found even in geographical encyclopedias, It is also concerned with mentioning the scholars, poets, writers, and dignitaries who were born there or visited it, or Some of them died there, especially the Companions of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, out of honor and blessing for them, It also contains valuable information about the history of Iran in the Ghaznavid and Seljuk era, It is of importance because it contains information that is not found in other books written at that time, and it is in addition to the valuable information it contains about the history, geography, economy, and culture of Bayhaq. It is also important because it contains books that are lost today, and which the author used when they were in his hands, The researcher relied on the inductive analytical method and the comparative analytical method to reach the results of the research.
